Updated: Jan 30

The Redd on Salmon Street is located in Portland's SE Industrial District. It's former 1918 foundry's metal stamping "green machine" press creates a stunning, industrial-chic backdrop for your Portland wedding.

HISTORY

Previously, The Redd on Salmon once housed one of Portland's staple industries: the Hesse-Ersted Ironworks foundy. It was built in 1918 and is situated in the vibrant Central Eastside Industrial District of Portland. This neighborhood boasts a robust industrial legacy dating back to the mid-1800s. The seamless import and export of food and durable goods through both railroad and river connections gave rise to a flourishing fruit and vegetable market on a nearby street that's still known as "Produce Row."

With its 900 tons of pressure, the massive, green stamping steel machine was used to bend and shape metal. Today, this glorious and oddly beautiful devise remains in place as a reminder of Portland's past.
